Minimum Requirements:
1. Age: At least 18 years old.
2. Driver's License: Possess a valid Ohio Driver's License without excessive violations.
3. Physical Condition: Maintain good physical fitness.
4. Education: High School Graduate or GED holder.
5. Character: Demonstrate good moral character.
Application Process:
1. Fill out an Application
2. Review and Processing: The Assistant Fire Chief will review your application, driving record, and references.
3. Interview: If you meet the qualifications, you'll be invited for an interview.
4. Background Check and Physical: Successful candidates undergo a background check and firefighter physical, including drug testing (all expenses covered by the Fire District).
5. Approval: Final approval to hire is granted by the Fire Board.
Training and Certification:
- No certifications? No problem! We offer free Fire and EMS training and certifications for Residents of the Fire District.
Responsibilities:
As a firefighter, your duties may include:
- Driving fire trucks and emergency vehicles.
- Extinguishing fires and rescuing victims.
- Providing medical assistance to the sick or injured.
- Documenting emergency incidents.
- Maintaining equipment and conducting drills.
- Educating the public on fire safety.
Firefighting School:
- We will assist you in finding a state-certified training facility in central Ohio.
- Various levels of certification offered:
- Volunteer Firefighter Certification (36 hours)
- Level I Certification (120 hours)
- Level II Certification (240 hours)
